Oklahoma 4-H Club Up and Running Thanks to Lancaster Archery Foundation Grant
The Wild Bunch 4-H Archery Club of Collinsville, Okla., is officially up and running thanks to a grant from the Lancaster Archery Foundation.
The club, which has 20 members raging in age from 9-15, won its 4-H archery certification, and is now regularly holding practice sessions and sending kids to competitions.
The Wild Bunch applied for and received a $1,000 grant from the Lancaster Archery Foundation, which was used to purchase bows, arrows and related gear.
“We finally have our Wild Bunch 4-H Archery Club up and going,” said Suan O’Neal, who leads the club.
“The kids are having a blast and are so thankful for the equipment that you granted to our club.”
The Wild Bunch started with almost no equipment, but with a goal of growing to provide more opportunities for kids in the community to get involved with archery.
O’Neal said that growth is now happening - thanks in part to the equipment purchases afforded by the Foundation grant – as new members are signing up as word spreads of the club’s programs.
“One of the Lancaster Archery Foundation’s main goals is to help small, community clubs like the Wild Bunch 4-H get up and running and introducing new kids to archery,“ said Rob Kaufhold, president of the Foundation’s board of directors.
Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
