Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Oklahoma 4-H Club Host Summer Camp
An Oklahoma 4-H club used a grant from Lancaster Archery Foundation to buy new gear and host an archery camp for kids during the summer of 2025.
Creek County 4-H Archery Club received a $5,000 grant in 2024 from the foundation’s Growing Youth Archery Together program.
The funds were used to buy a variety of bows, arrows, targets and range equipment, with a goal of improving and expanding what the club could offer.
During the summer of 2025, the club, which has 45 youth members, hosted an archery camp to introduce novices to archery and to help experienced archers improve their skills. The club is located in a rural area between Tulsa and Oklahoma City,
“This is how we reach all corners of the United States to get kids involved in archery,” said Rob Kaufhold, president of Lancaster Archery Foundation’s board of directors.
“Without the Creek County 4-H, maybe the kids who attended this camp might never get the chance to pick up a bow.”
And the Creek County 4-H Archery Club’s organizers have plans for bigger and better events going forward.
“By having the right quantity of high quality targets and supportive equipment, we can successfully host more competitive shoots at our facility and also hold more effective practices,” officials stated in the club’s grant application submitted to the foundation.
“Our archery program is poised for growth and sustainability.”
Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
